'Twilight Saga: New Moon': Let's see the Volturi already!
15 Jul 2009
Just reading this Sci Fi Wire interview with Christopher Heyerdahl, who'll play Volturi member Marcus in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and I realized my patience for seeing an official image of that coven is wearing increasingly thin. "Everyone looks gorgeous and deliciously lifeless," Heyerdahl says. Release the Volturi tease now, Summit! (Or, at least at Comic-Con.)
As for Heyerdahl (Supernatural, Sanctuary, Stargate: Atlantis), I like where his head is at for his role:
"Here's how I approach him. When Marcus is brought in, he's there against his will. He and his love tried to leave an awfully long time ago. Through a series of tragic circumstances, the love of his life was killed, and he's now being forced to stay and use his powers for the betterment of the Volturi. He's not exactly there, waking up and looking forward to eternity. When Edward and Bella come walking in, his ability to sense the power of their connection is something that wakes him up, brings him back from the boredom of that eternal life and sparks something in him that brings Marcus as close to excitement as he can get. That idea has to be contained and expressed as little as possible to his rather power-hungry captain-in-arms, Aro, which makes for a rather interesting conflict. You might not know it, but Marcus is pretty darn excited by this love that he witnesses. At the same time, it causes him great pain with the memory of what he had and lost. It was very complex to play, especially when you are doing it with so few lines. It will be interesting to see how it is cut together."
What do you think of Heyedahl's take? And more importantly, are you ready to see an official Volturi image already?

New Moon Dude on Robsten: "I Feel For Them"
14 Jul 2009
Billy Burke, who plays Bella's father in the series, was interviewed by E! Online:
So Kristen was reportedly pregnant, which we cleared up and showed to be totally false.Read more
Rob is probably pregnant with my child. It's funny no one picked up on me and Rob's affair.
Do you wish you were more involved in rumors like your younger costars?
I don't feel left out at all. They can keep me out of those rumors as much as they want.
How do you think Rob's handling all this attention? He seems stressed out on the set of his new movie, Remember Me... Think R.Pattz would ever get totally fed up with it and quit acting altogether?
You mean pulling a Joaquin Phoenix? I doubt he would go that route. He's got a lot of talent. He's got his art, as opposed to being bogged down by all this bulls--t. I think he's handling it well. I feel a little bit for [Rob and Kristen]. I think [the attention] was unexpected by both of them.

‘Twilight’ Stars Dazzle At Vision Awards
29 Jun 2009
It wasn’t the Forks High School prom, but it was definitely an occasion worthy of playing dress up. “Twilight” stars Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Gil Birmingham and Christian Serratos were on hand at the 36th annual Vision Awards this weekend to accept a Film of Vision award for “Twilight.”
Ashley Greene sauntered down the red carpet in an oh-so-cute black Dolce & Gabana dress with a surprise accessory: a wedding ring! Though the star has recently been linked to Adrian Grenier, her bling wasn’t courtesy of the “Entourage” hunk. “I had it filming ‘Twilight’ and I just kept it on,” she told Radar of Jasper’s ring.

'Twilight' Actor Michael Welch 'Concerned' About Robert Pattinson
24 Jun 2009
'Is it time to start getting concerned here?' actor asks after hearing about RPattz being grazed by a cab.
SANTA MONICA, California - When Robert Pattinson was grazed by a moving taxicab recently, the news rocked legions of "Twilight" fans who feared for their favorite actor's life. His series co-star Michael Welch, however, was surprised to hear the news when he sat down with MTV News on Tuesday.
"No," marveled the actor, who plays Mike Newton in the films. "You are how I stay in touch with this stuff."
Once we briefed Mike on the recent near-tragedy, the affable actor expressed concern for RPattz's health - and a hope that the star's skyrocketing fame crests soon.
"I've said over and over: Literally, right now, Rob Pattinson and Barack Obama are the two most famous people in the world," Welch said.
But as the cast of "Twilight" are discovering these days, Pattinson's fame is getting dangerous.
"I don't see how this is sustainable - is this gonna keep going for the rest of his life?" Welch asked of recent video footage that has Pattinson fleeing sobbing fans trying to hug him. "I understand it, it's Edward Cullen, I get it. But he's still Rob Pattinson first - he's still his own guy. Is it time to start getting concerned here?

"Twilight" Star Rachelle Lefevre Juggling Several Projects In Canada
19 Jun 2009
TORONTO - Montreal native Rachelle Lefevre has a devised plan to ensure she never loses touch with her Canuck roots as her star soars on the smash success of the "Twilight" vampire film and its upcoming sequel, "New Moon."
"When I moved to L.A. like, five years ago, I said to myself: 'My goal is to do a project on Canadian soil every year," the Montreal native said Thursday in an interview. "And so far I've managed it."
Boy has she ever.
The affable stunner, who plays the vengeful vampire Victoria in the films that are based on Stephenie Meyer's bestselling books, has been working on various projects in her homeland in recent months.
A year ago, she shot the CBC miniseries "The Summit" in several parts of Ontario (it airs next month); last month, she wrapped up shooting "New Moon" in Vancouver; on Friday she finishes filming "Casino Jack," starring Kevin Spacey, in Toronto; and in August she'll head back to Vancouver to shoot "Eclipse," the third film in the "Twilight" saga.

Catherine Hardwicke On ‘New Moon’ Stars: ‘I’m So Proud Of The Whole Cast’
14 Jun 2009
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke may not be directing saga sequel “New Moon,” but she hasn’t forgotten about her former actors.
“I’m so proud of the whole cast,” she told Access Hollywood at the Women In Film 2009 Crystal and Lucy Awards on Friday night. “They’re all getting to do amazing movies. It’s great.”
And it was returning star Taylor Lautner, who bulked up for his bigger role in “New Moon,” who she singled out.
“I think he looks amazing,” she said. “He’s totally worked hard for it so he looked great.”
“Twilight” won big at the MTV Movie Awards on May 31, and the director was excited to see the vampire drama outdo summer blockbuster “The Dark Knight.”
“We even won Best Fight!” she said. “That was pretty cool. We beat Batman and all those movies. I was pretty proud of that.”
