Kristen Stewart Jury Duty Pic Triggers Mini Scandal

04 Feb 2010

Kristen Stewart was just trying to do her civic duty. Too bad it's put two men into some real doodie.

The Twilight starlet (and reigning Vanity Fair covergirl) appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court earlier this week to serve jury duty. Apparently, one of the security guards was a Twi-hard and asked K.Stew to pose for a quick camera-phone photo. Obviously, she was in the giving mood, she obliged.

However, it appears that perhaps K.Stew shouldn't have been so generous. The guard's pal (who was also there) then allowed his wife to post the picture on the Internet...and now the two men could lose their jobs because of it.

Brit Band Muse Inspired Twilight Author

02 Feb 2010

AsiaOne News has an interview and article with Muse where they mentioned how they have 'Twilight' to partly thank for their success in the U.S.:

Fans of the insanely popular vampire saga Twilight may have British alternative rock band Muse to thank (at least in part) for its creation.

The books' author, American Stephenie Meyer, is a huge admirer of the trio and mentions them in the acknowledgement page of each volume, thanking them for "a saga's worth of inspiration".

Not only that, Muse has also been featured in the soundtracks of the past two movie versions of the books: Twilight and New Moon.

For the Essex trio, who play their second Singapore gig as part of promoter LAMC Productions' Big Night Out 2010, that association has brought only good things.

Speaking to my paper recently from Sydney, Australia, where the band was playing at the annual Big Day Out festival, bassist Christopher Wolstenholme revealed: "I was vaguely aware of the books (before Meyer approached us) but we didn't think anything of it at the time.

"The next thing you know, it's Twilight fever. It's good because it has made a difference for us in trying to break into America."

Anna Kendrick: First 'Twilight' Star With An Oscar Nomination

02 Feb 2010

With Kendrick going for Oscar gold, we look back on her meteoric rise — and our predictions that she'd be the first out of the 'Twilight' cast to be nominated.

On Tuesday morning (February 2), Twilighters all over the world woke up to a new reality: One of their own is an Oscar-nominated thespian. In Stephenie Meyer's world, something tells us that Jessica Stanley wouldn't be able to stop talking about such an exciting development; in real life, however, Anna Kendrick is a bit more modest.

"I am thrilled beyond words to be nominated with these talented and inspiring women," the ebullient 24-year-old actress said in a statement after learning she had been nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role in the George Clooney drama many consider to be among the best of the year. "Being involved in a film as special as 'Up in the Air' was a dream come true. I am overwhelmed and honored by this nomination and am so grateful to be able to share this experience with George, Vera [Farmiga] and [director] Jason [Reitman]."

Years ago, we wrote extensively about how the "Twilight" cast seemed like one of those rare families of stars who could head off in different directions and impact Hollywood for decades to come, "Dazed and Confused"-style. But even we couldn't predict that it would happen so quickly — or that their first Oscar nomination would go to ... a human with only a handful of lines in each film?

Apparently, you guys couldn't predict it either. In November, we teamed with Fandango to poll "Twilight" fans and one of the questions asked was which saga star would be the first to win an Oscar. The results? Robert Pattinson won with nearly half the vote, while Anna got ... 1 percent. Awkward!

Moments after she did earn the nod for the first possible golden guy for Twilight Nation, Anna responded by doing something very new-Hollywood: She posted to her Twitter account. "I'd love to say that 140 characters couldn't cover how I'm feeling right now," she wrote. "But I'm honestly speechless."

Robert Pattinson to Appear on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”

02 Feb 2010

Robert Pattinson will appear on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” Gossip Cop can confirm.

We are told Pattinson will be on March 1, the same day as Fallon’s first year anniversary as the host of “Late Night.”

After the appearance, Pattinson will then go to the premiere of Remember Me, his film with Emilie de Ravin.

Fallon, of course, has had some fun at Pattinson’s expense in the past, showing videos of a “bothered” “Pattinson” airing grievances from a tree.

Yesterday we reported that Pattinson and de Ravin will be appearing together on “The View” on March 2.

Vanity Fair Preview: Kristen Stewart & Anna Kendrick

01 Feb 2010

Vanity Fair has released a preview of their upcoming March issue featuring the current hottest actresses in Hollywood. Here is some snippets about Anna and Kristen:
At just 24, Anna Kendrick has already shown impressive range, from Bella Swan’s twit friend Jessica in the Twilight saga to George Clooney’s buttoned-up colleague in Up in the Air. At age 12, the Maine native was nominated for a Tony Award, for her role in the 1998 musical High Society. After she auditioned for the role of Natalie in Up in the Air, she thought she’d tanked, given director Jason Reitman’s utter non-reaction. Turned out he’d written the role for her, after having seen her in the small high-school film Rocket Science. Next, she’ll star with Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

In an era in which every teen star has a stylist and a bland pop record, 19-year-old Kristen Stewart is the tough-minded, no-frills anomaly. Stewart played Bella Swan not as a cartoon but as anxious and complicated—making the predicament of being torn between a vampire and a werewolf seem … well, almost plausible. The daughter of a television-producer father and an Australian script-supervisor mother, the L.A.-bred Stewart has been consistently drawn to melancholy over flash. Between Twilight installments, her edgy trajectory will continue with Welcome to the Rileys, about the friendship between a stripper and a married businessman, played by James Gandolfini, and The Runaways, about rocker Joan Jett.

Robert Pattinson Makes His "View" Debut

01 Feb 2010

That's right, the Twilight heartthrob will make his very first appearance on The View March 2nd! Robert, dubbed as one of People magazine's “Sexiest Men Alive,” will appear along with Emilie De Ravin, his co-star in the upcoming film Remember Me. (Emilie's also back for the final season of Lost as Claire, so maybe she'll have something to say about that too.)

Of course you know him as the sultry, brooding, sexy vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, Robert (a.k.a.“RPattz”) is a 23-year-old English actor, singer/musician and model who was first introduced to movie audiences as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Later, his starring role in Twilight catapulted him to instant stardom. The highly anticipated third installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released later this year. Robert, who composes his own music, sings two of the songs on the Twilight soundtrack: “Never Think” and “Let Me Sign.”

Robert Pattinson's Sparkly New Comic!

31 Jan 2010

Thanks to Kim from Twilight Moonlighter and Twilight Parents Examiner informing us herself, she has officially announced a comic book she has been working on featuring Robert Pattinson that will be released in May. E! Online has exclusively announced the project:

Lady Gaga and Robert Pattinson have more in common than you think—they both like to sparkle, they both can sing and they both look fabulous in cartoon form.

The second installment of Bluewater Productions' new comic book line, Fame, features none other than your favorite sparkle vamp. The 32-pager doesn't hit comic book stores and Amazon.com until May, but E! News has the exclusive first look.

The issue, written by Kim Sherman and drawn by Nathaniel Ooten, with the cover created by Juan Mar Studios, delves into the star's music, modeling and, of course, those dreamy roles he played in the Harry Potter and Twilight movies.

"I chose to conceptualize A-lister Robert Pattinson from a unique perspective, immersing the reader into the life of the talented actor beyond his most famous role," Sherman says.

"It's our hope that even the most devoted fans will discover a fact or two that takes them completely by surprise," Bluewater president Darren G. Davis says.

Author Stephenie Meyer has already been immortalized in comic, but worry not, K.Stew fans! She'll get her time to shine soon enough.
