Michael Copon on New Moon and Replacing Taylor Lautner

During the Ghosts of Girlfriends Past premiere on April 27th, I got a chance to talk to Michael Copon on the red carpet. You may remember him -- he's the guy who was rumored to replace Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black in the Twilight sequel New Moon.

I asked him if that was real or rumor, and he told me it was 100% true. It was a tense back-and-forth during casting, but we all know who got the role in the end. Copon told me he really, really wanted to get the role, but that he is happy for Lautner: "There are no hard feelings between Taylor and me -- we are friends."

He also said that he and Lautner have the same talent agent, which according to IMDb is Thor Bradwell from William Morris agency. While it was a win-win for Thor, Copon -- now bitten buy the Twilight bug -- will have to see New Moon in theaters like the rest of us mortals.

I trust there is quite a future for Copon though. Standing on the red carpet with Copon, who was promoting his next movie, Night of the Demons, I realized he is statuesque and very good looking. It's no wonder he was considered for the Jacob Black role.

New Theatre Set, Costumes, And Action At New Moon Set

Once again, Vancity Allie had an awesome experience being able to watch some of the movie theatre scenes being filmed. She has some great photos available and goes into detail about what happened on the set. You can really start to envision has New Moon will turn out!

There were a number of sidewalk shots, but most of the scenes were shot under the theatre overhang. Cranes and rigs held large diffused light globes, and the sidewalks were lined with bright lights. Plus two spotlights at each end of the block. This was the closest many fans have ever gotten to a Twilight set. It was incredible.

This was my first sighting of Chris Weitz, so it was great to see the New Moon director in a fabulous white sweater with a really cool black red and white scarf and jeans.

Mike Welch was looking dapper in a tan spring jacket and light blue button up shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. Perfect for a date night out with Bella.

Peter Facinelli: Taylor Lautner As A Werewolf ‘Scares Me’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Taylor Lautner’s hard work in the gym bulking up to play a werewolf in “New Moon” appears to have paid off – he’s scaring his co-stars.

Access Hollywood caught up with “New Moon” star Peter Facinelli, who plays vampire Dr. Cullen, at the “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” premiere in LA Monday night where he admitted his newfound fear of Taylor.

“He scares me now!” Peter joked with Access. “He’s gotten really big and if I saw him in a back alley, I’d probably run!”

And it’s not just Taylor who’s instilling fear in Peter’s heart – the newly cast wolf pack is also wreaking some havoc on the set in Vancouver.

“Werewolves are coming out of the woodwork,” Peter added. “They scare me!”

One group of people who do not send shivers down Peter’s spine are the dedicated Twi-hards, who have been streaming into Vancouver hoping to get a glimpse the cast as they film “New Moon.”

“The fans have been phenomenal, we have fans who just camp out all night long…with sleeping bags!” Peter told Access. “It’s crazy!”

Twilight Teen Date Cuteness

The next few updates are going to be coming from Lainey Gossip since they have a lot of exclusive photos of some of the actors/actresses out and about this past weekend.

I was the first to tell you about Taylor Lautner and Selena Gomez last week – now more exclusive details about their adorable weekend date.

Saturday night: they had dinner at the Cactus Club in Coquitlam, emerged in great spirits, both with big smiles on their faces, Selena held on to Taylor’s arm. At one point, after they had become separated and she fell behind to sign autographs, she ran back up to join him, throwing her arms around his neck, both bursting into giggles.

Seriously…

It is just So.Sweet.

Taylor Lautner Runs For Cover

Taylor Lautner is breaking a sweat even when he's not lifting weights on set.

Coming off of rumors that he is dating Disney sweetheart Selena Gomez, the New Moon werewolf was spotted posing with a few fans before running to his vehicle as he left his Vancouver hotel this morning.

The sequel to Twilight is being filmed in Vancouver, and it seems like die-hard fans have a close eye on the cast's whereabouts at all times.

Taylor has sure come a long way from his days as Sharkboy.

Taylor, Selena, And Mom!

Lainey Gossip seems to be reporting some "romance" between Taylor and Selena Gomez. Take it as you may:

And it gets even cuter.

As I reported exclusively earlier today, Selena Gomez is in Vancouver shooting a movie called Ramona and Beezus. Duana is freaking out about this, as are many of you, because you loved reading these books as children. Duana is also seriously concerned that I never did. Chinese family, no exposure to it, and at that age, they were too busy making sure I’d be fully entrenched in our culture so that I’d never lose it as an adult. Have added to the list.

Anyway, Selena is Beezus and she’s filming in Vancouver and so is Taylor Lautner and this afternoon they popped into a coffee house downtown with her mom. That’s Selena covering her head, hiding behind a bodyguard, and that’s Taylor with the same bodyguard, both getting into a white SUV.

Mentioned earlier they’ve been on 3 dinner dates, once at the Spaghetti Factory and I’m also told another time at The Keg – it’s a steakhouse chain here in Canada.

He also pops in to see her at lunch break when he’s not being a wolf in Twilight/New Moon.

Seriously adorable.

PS. Taylor is now 17 – had hundreds of twi-hards yelling at me about it because I wrote 16 earlier. 17, he’s 17.

Lainey Gossip once again has some exclusive photos plus a video, this time of Taylor Lautner working out on the set of New Moon on Friday, April 17th.

These just in!

Taken a few hours ago - Taylor Lautner on set working out, pumping up those muscles before the cameras started rolling.

I'm on my blackberry right now so I can't see every photo clearly but those look like bicep curls, triceps, standing rows, flies too. Those bands - those are super bands. Hayley makes me do core rotations with those bands combined with an oblique dip on a bench. Killer.

Anyway, by all accounts Taylor has been working out vigorously to become wolf-worthy as he'll be featured topless in several scenes.
