The U.S. Release of How To Be!
17 Feb 2009
Welcome to the many thousands of you who have signed up to the How To Be mailing list since the release of Twilight! How To Be is a British indie comedy about a struggling musician, played by Robert Pattinson, who shot the movie just before making Twilight.
We're excited to announce the much-anticipated U.S. release of How To Be! The film has been picked up for distribution by IFC Films and will premiere on IFC Festival Direct in April. To coincide with IFC's spring release, the How To Be soundtrack will be available on iTunes and on CD through Dreamboat Records. Full details of the release to come soon, and if you're not in the U.S. or Italy then rest assured that we are hard at work setting up distribution elsewhere!
Leading up to the release, How To Be is going on a U.S. tour! Oliver Irving (Writer/Director), Joe Hastings (Composer), Mike Pearce (Nikki), and Johnny White (Ronny) will be bringing the film to select cities, hitting states along the East coast from Florida to Massachusetts. April tour dates are still being finalized, but stay tuned for updates!
In the meantime, How To Be has confirmed an Australian premiere and joined the rosters of several U.S. film festivals, many of which Writer/Director Oliver Irving will be attending. See below for dates and links to information and ticket sales for upcoming festival screenings.

U.S. stores hope to duplicate "Twilight" success
12 Feb 2009
NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - Wal-Mart Stores Inc, is hoping that the vampire romance movie "Twilight", which was a surprise hit at the box office, will mean runaway success at its cash registers.
Twilight, based on the best-selling novel by U.S. author Stephenie Meyer, boasted a bigger opening North American weekend box office than the James Bond movie when it landed in theaters in November.
The Twilight movie DVD is slated for release on March 21, and to appeal to fans Wal-Mart will open "Twilight Shops" within each of its 3,500 U.S. discount stores starting in mid-March.
Wal-Mart said it will sell the DVD movie and CD soundtrack along with Twilight clothes, posters, jewelry and key chains.
Fans can also place early "pre-orders" on Wal-Mart's website for the Twilight DVD ahead of its nationwide release, and Walmart.com will post news about upcoming fan events and activities.
Wal-Mart is not the only retailer looking for a Twilight boost. Teen retailer Hot Topic Inc has seen brisk sales of its Twilight T-shirts, sweatshirts and jewelry. Its website is also taking early orders for the Twilight DVD.

‘Twilight’ Invades The 2009 New York Comic-Con!
06 Feb 2009
Superman, Spider-Man, Batman, and…Edward Cullen? That’s right, amongst the mutants and supervillains is none other than “Twilight.” The vamp franchise finds itself represented at Comic-Con in no less than two different areas on the show floor.
The publishers of Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” books is Little, Brown and Company, and the outfit has set up shop here at the convention, showcasing the work of their star author. “Twilight” fever also hit the Tonner booth, where their Edward Cullen and Bella Swan figures were on display.
For those of you who can’t make it to the show, click here or on the photo below for our full gallery of “Twilight” at NY Comic-Con.

Get Ready, Get Set-Based Twilight Book
04 Feb 2009
Just before the dawn of the DVD, Twilight fans can get a dose of life on the set with Robert Pattinson (swoon).
Little, Brown and Company is releasing Twilight: Director's Notebook, by Catherine Hardwicke, on March 17.
The book follows the director's creative process throughout the making of the Pattz and Kristen Stewart blockbuster based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling series. The tome is designed to replicate the notebook she kept on set.
“With this book, I tried to show fans and future directors some of the process that the crew and I went through filming Twilight,” Hardwicke says. “My challenge was to translate Stephenie’s powerful book and make you feel what she makes you feel when you read her works.”
The publishing house promises the inside secrets on casting, location scouting, wardrobe and storyboard sketches, and behind-the-scenes photographs.
The book's launch comes only four days before the March 21 release of the Twilight DVD. The film's sequel, New Moon, is scheduled for a Nov. 20, 2009, theatrical release, although Hardwicke will not be at the helm. Instead, Golden Compass director Chris Weitz will be taking the lead.

Fans Expected To Camp Out For Twilight
02 Feb 2009
Actor Edi Gathegi, one of the vampires in Summit Entertainment's hit Twilight, knows what he'll be doing Friday night, March 20.
"I'm gonna be there at midnight with everyone else waiting for the DVD," Gathegi said at Summit's Push premiere party Jan. 29. "We're gonna make it an old-fashioned slumber party … I think it's genius what Summit is doing. A large part of our audience is teenagers, and every one of them will be there."
In a nod to those repeat, young, female viewers who helped Twilight bring in $185 million at the domestic box office ($324 million worldwide), Summit will be making an event out of its DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases of the film, with midnight release parties nationwide.
"There wasn't a lot in the way of history to compare with on how Twilight would perform at the box office," said Steve Nickerson, president of Summit Home Entertainment, pointing to Mean Girls and Sex and the City as the only comparable gauges. "With the DVD, we knew if we stuck with a Tuesday we knew there were going to be fans who couldn't get it right when it was available. We said we had to do a Saturday (March 21) release date."
