Radar Online Exclusive Interview Part 2: New Moon Star Chaske Spencer Reveals Wolf Pack Tattoo Secret
11 Sep 2009
In part two of RadarOnline.com's exclusive interview with Chaske Spencer, best known as Sam Uley in New Moon, the second film in the Twilight Saga, the actor opens up about his chemistry with his beautiful co-star Tinsel Korey, what a pro Kristen Stewart is, and even what he thinks the werewolf tattoo means!
Radar: When you first booked the role how long did you have to keep it under wraps?
Spencer: Oh my God, maybe about a month a month and a half. I didn't tell anybody.
Radar: Was it hard?
Spencer: It was hard. It was really hard because I told my friends I got booked on a pilot so I would have an excuse to go to Vancouver. I told them yeah, I booked a pilot and I'll be up there for a little while. I told my parents the same thing.
Radar: You didn't even tell your parents?
Spencer: No, I didn't tell my parents at all. I didn't tell anybody. I kept it pretty close. It was really cool, I guess that's how the guys in the Wolf Pack really bonded, because we couldn't tell anyone so we just talked about it amongst ourselves. All the excitement and what we're going through, the workout. I guess that's how we bonded, the workouts and plus it's like a brotherhood of secrecy, so we had to keep this big secret and we just talked. It was good to vent to one and other and bounce ideas off each other. It was really hard, it was really hard. The paparazzi got us in a restaurant, they took our picture with Chris Weitz and Taylor. Then about a few days later it came out and I got to tell all of my friends. They were like whoa, man, what's up Spence, why didn't you say anything? My mom and dad, they were just excited.

Radar Online Exclusive Interview: New Moon Star Chaske Spencer on His Competition With RPattz
10 Sep 2009
As the tension between the vampires and the werewolves builds in the Twilight Saga, a pivotal character in the series is Sam Uley, the La Push Shape Shifter and the alpha leader of the werewolves pack.
Chaske Spencer played Sam in New Moon and RadarOnline.com exclusively caught up with him before he starts filming Eclipse next week in Vancouver. In part one of the interview we tried to find out everything there is to know about Chaske, his incredible new buff body and his competition with Rob Pattinson!
Radar: Have you started filming Eclipse yet?
Spencer: No, I leave Sunday.
Radar: Are you excited?
Spencer: Yeah, I am, I’m excited to get back to work. I like to work so it’s kind of like waiting around getting ready to get back into the game.
Radar: Hurry up and do nothing until you get started?
Spencer: Yeah, I’ve been going to the gym and hanging out with friends, and going to rock show, because when I was up there last time filming New Moon I was up there for a while so in my down time I try to make sure I stay relaxed.

'New Moon' Star Jamie Campbell Bower Had 'Fun' Tearing People Apart
10 Sep 2009
'I just sit there smiling and really enjoying it,' actor recalls of a particularly violent scene.
With only two more months left before "New Moon" finally hits theaters, many fans have begun looking past the series' stars (RPattz, KStew, Taycob) and wondering who the next big breakout will be. And while it might be smart to place your money on such newcomers as Kiowa Gordon, Dakota Fanning or Cameron Bright, we feel like the man to beat might just be Jamie Campbell Bower.
Handsome, witty and starring in the high-profile role of Volturi vampire Caius, Bower has one secret weapon at his disposal that his co-stars don't: two other high-profile projects (the next "Harry Potter" movie, TV's "The Prisoner") scheduled to wage war on our pop-culture awareness soon.
When we caught up with Bower, the up-and-coming Brit was eager to deliver some surprising news about his accent, walking in the "Potter"/"Twilight" footsteps of Robert Pattinson, and why he enjoys tearing people apart.

Death Cab For Cutie Reveal Secrets Of 'New Moon' Video Shoot
08 Sep 2009
'Meet Me on the Equinox' debuts on MTV.com on Sunday, the day of the VMAs.
As soon as Death Cab for Cutie learned their "Meet Me on the Equinox" had been chosen as the first single from the upcoming "New Moon" soundtrack, they immediately began thinking about the accompanying music video.
Their first idea was to go big, as in "cameos by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner." Of course, that was mostly just wishful thinking, so they went with option number two: make a smart, stylish clip with the directorial tandem known as Walter Robot, a pair of guys known for making smart, stylish clips (including DCFC's VMA-nominated "Grapevine Fires").
And last week, the band, the Robots and an army of lighting techs assembled in a rustic, somewhat creepy ski lodge outside Toronto to film the "Equinox" video. Given the "dark and light" themes of the "Twilight" series (and the fact that the song is named after a solar phenomenon), the clip somewhat fittingly draws heavily on the ideas of day and night and light and shadow.
"The whole idea behind the video is that this house that we're in, this crazy ski lodge of a building here, it's going to get cut together with scenes from the film, sort of like it's a place that might be in Forks, sort of a place that might be next door to Bella's house or something," DCFC guitarist Chris Walla told MTV News. "All the light stuff that's happening through the windows, it's the 'day-turning-into-night-turning-into-day thing,' the idea is that it's supposed to look like a time-lapse thing, only it's not actually a time-lapse thing, and it's quite a trick.

Twilight Actress Kristen Stewart On New Moon
06 Sep 2009

At only 19, Kristen Stewart has already starred alongside Jodie Foster, Sean Penn and Robert De Niro and is the lead in the scarily successful Twilight series
I think she has a much bigger rack than I have.” Kristen Stewart is pondering her Twilight action figure — the little plastic doll that represents Bella, her character in the film franchise — while checking the proportions of the bust. “I also think she looks much older than me,” she adds, before setting the figure aside. I pick it up and, on closer inspection, the doll does look a little older than its real-life progenitor (as to the “rack”, closer inspection would be inappropriate). “It’s strange,” continues the 19-year-old actress, “but people often think I’m a little bit older than I really am. A French journalist asked me earlier on how my teenage years had affected my later life. I’m still in my teens.” She smiles. “Really, even if I was older, how could my teenage years not have shaped my life? I don’t know how to answer that.”
The French journalist should have done his research, although, to the uneducated observer, Stewart might well seem beyond her years. Her conversation, for example, most certainly belies her age. Not many teenagers are quite as articulate or as self-aware — although not many teenagers are carrying the world’s biggest burgeoning film franchise, the teen vampire series Twilight. With JK Rowling’s much-loved characters pottering into their final big-screen chapter, Twilight will soon stand as the top teen-movie franchise, and with their leading lady, the film-makers have snared a supremely talented and highly intelligent young star.

Death Cab For Cutie Talk Edward Vs. Jacob On 'New Moon' Video Set
04 Sep 2009
'Meet Me on the Equinox' band was invited to screen a five-hour-long cut of 'Twilight' sequel.
By their own admission, only one-fourth of Death Cab for Cutie have actually read anything from the "Twilight" series (guitarist Chris Walla, we're looking at you), but that hasn't stopped them from penning the first single from the upcoming "New Moon" soundtrack, "Meet Me on the Equinox."
And that hasn't stopped them from weighing in on one of the series' central conflicts — the whole Team Edward vs. Team Jacob thing — when we visited the set of the "Equinox" video in Toronto on Wednesday.
"OK, so again, having only finished the second book, I feel like I'm sort of out on a limb a little bit, because I haven't started the third book," Walla told MTV News. "So I'm really excited to see the film and sort of see if I feel like I'm still out on a limb. Like, I love Jacob. He's great. In the middle of the book, he's the one who's taking care of Bella, and, like, where's Edward? What is he doing? What an a--hole! But he comes through in the end, and, you know, we'll see what happens."
